Gregg S. Rutgers, Co-Founder

Gregg Rutgers is 1 of 3 principal owners that founded Lynx Network Group in 2003.  Gregg’s responsibilities include day-to-day management of Lynx Network Group’s marketing, service, support and order provisioning.  He is also responsible for developing and managing partnerships and agreements with providers of local, mobility, data and Internet services, as well as co-managing the growth of the company’s agent and distributor programs.  In addition, Gregg manages Lynx’s TEM division. Prior to founding Lynx Network Group, Gregg first entered the telecommunication industry in 1995 and was a top 15 sales producer for SBC/Ameritech with outstanding achievements including Peak Achiever, Premier Class, Summit Awards, President’s Club, Chairman’s Club and Hall of Fame Club.  He gained experience in several market segments such as ISPs, wholesale, distributor/agent channels and major accounts.  Gregg holds a BA in Public Health Education and Health Promotion, from Central Michigan University in 1994.  He is the President of the Mattawan Soccer Club and is active in fund raising and the MPEF.  He also enjoys coaching youth soccer, softball, volleyball and basketball as well as competing in sprint triathlons & duathlons.


Gerald J. Philipp, Co-Founder

Gerald Philipp is 1 of 3 principal owners that founded Lynx Network Group in 2003. Gerald oversees the overall profit and performance of the organization. He also directs strategic company direction and manages business development including sales, marketing and vendor relations, while supplemental responsibilities include acquisition of key accounts and strategic business partnerships. Gerald entered the telecommunication industry in 1992 and was year over year the #1 sales performer for SBC/Ameritech in MI and in the top five in the Midwest. He gained experience in several market segments such as ISPs, wholesale, distributor/agent channels, and major and national accounts for SBC. Prior to his employment in Telecommunications, Gerald worked for a prominent medical instruments company. He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree with a Minor in Marketing from Western Michigan University with credit for a Masters Degree in Telecommunications. In his personal time Gerald enjoys coaching and playing many sports, and enjoys other outdoor activities such as golf and alpine skiing with his family.


Christopher J. Barber, Co-Founder

Chris Barber is 1 of 3 principal owners that founded Lynx Network Group in 2003.  Chris leads and guides the strategic vision and development for the overall technology strategy of LYNX Network Group.  Responsibilities include: Network planning, growth and direction, product development, and service creation.  In 1995, Chris began his management experience in the telecommunications industry as a commercial account manager for ATT Corporation where he was responsible for customer acquisition and incremental revenue growth of existing customers. Following his 4 years with AT&T, he worked for an Ameritech/SBC 5-Star Distributor in Michigan serving Enterprise, Government, Education and Medical customers. During this period, Chris consecutively earned top honors in the elite president’s club every year. He earned a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University where he was an active leader and member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Chris is the founding President of Glima Northwest (now Connectech), a non-profit technology organization which promotes and fosters technology business development and education under the Automation Alley family. Chris is currently serving as a mentor for Kids Hope USA.


Heather Haydo, Director of Finance and Human Resources

In Heather’s role as Director of Finance and Human Resources, her primary responsibilities include daily, monthly and annual financial management/analysis and human resource management. Additionally she contributes to general operations management.   Heather earned a B.A. in Accountancy with a minor in Psychology from Western Michigan University where she was an active member of the student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She has 17 years of business experience in the manufacturing, staffing, real estate and telecommunications industries. She has successfully held management roles reporting directly to ownership and board members in both accounting/finance and sales while capitalizing on her aptitude for financial analysis, attention to detail, relationship building and customer service skills. Heather is an avid cyclist, enjoys gardening, playing and watching sports and taking adventures with her family.


C.J. Veverka, Director of Network Operations

C.J. Veverka has worked in nearly every facet of IT since 2000. His past experience includes overseeing helpdesk and call center staff, dedicated internet support, webhosting support, datacenter management(DCIM and DCFM), IT Project management, network engineering, and research and development. He brings with him an entrepreneurial spirit; having started his first of 3 businesses when he was 17, and will be working to manage many of the new data products and services that Lynx is deploying. C.J. Graduated (Summa Cum Laude) from Lansing Community College. C.J. grew up in Lansing, MI, and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys technology.
